Bison Maldives Donates USD 20,000 to Sri Lanka Cyclone Relief Efforts

Bison Maldives, has made a contribution of USD 20,000 today to support the ongoing humanitarian and relief operations in Sri Lanka following the devastating impact of Tropical Cyclone Ditwah.

The financial contribution was formally handed over to the High Commission of Sri Lanka in the Maldives, underscoring Bison Maldives’ commitment to corporate social responsibility and its deep solidarity with its closest neighbour.

Cyclone Ditwah has caused widespread flooding, catastrophic landslides, and severe infrastructure damage across Sri Lanka, displacing hundreds of thousands of people and leading to a major humanitarian crisis.

The donation will be directed towards purchasing essential supplies, providing emergency shelter, and supporting the critical recovery efforts being managed by the Sri Lankan government and aid agencies.

The handover ceremony, attended by officials from the High Commission and the management team of Bison Maldives, highlighted the enduring bond between the people of the Maldives and Sri Lanka.

The High Commission of Sri Lanka in the Maldives expressed heartfelt gratitude for the timely assistance, noting that such contributions are vital in managing the enormous relief challenge. Bison Maldives is proud to join the collective effort by various Maldivian entities (including the government, private sector, and the public) to stand with Sri Lanka during this critical period.
